CBE Announces Service Fee Adjustment

KEYIR NEWS - The Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) has announced that it will introduce a new service fee adjustment effective September 19, 2018.

In a statement issued by the bank, CBE emphasized its longstanding practice of notifying customers in advance of any fee changes. The latest adjustment, the bank noted, applies to a range of services provided at its branches, most of which will continue to be charged under the updated structure.

While details of the specific adjustments were not disclosed, the bank underlined that the revision is part of its ongoing effort to align services with operational costs and to ensure sustainability in delivering modern and efficient banking solutions.

CBE, the largest commercial bank in Ethiopia with a nationwide presence and millions of customers, has in recent years invested heavily in expanding its digital banking platforms and branch network. Analysts note that fee adjustments are not uncommon as financial institutions adapt to rising operational demands and the cost of technological upgrades.

The bank reassured customers of its continued commitment to transparency, reliability, and customer-centered service, adding that it will work to minimize inconvenience while maintaining service quality.

Founded in 1942, the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia remains the country’s leading financial institution, playing a central role in trade financing, remittances, and economic development.
