KEYIR NEWSEthiopian Airlines Group has announced that it generated a record $7.6 billion in revenue during the 2017 Ethiopian fiscal year, despite turbulence in the global aviation market.

Speaking at a media briefing, Group CEO Mesfin Tassew stated that the airline maintained profitability even as the industry faced challenges due to the Russia-Ukraine war, the conflict in Sudan, and broader Middle East instability.

“Despite global headwinds, we have remained resilient and delivered solid performance by reinforcing our strategic position in the market,” he said.

Ethiopian Airlines added six new international destinations, increasing the total number of routes across Africa, Asia, and Europe. The airline transported over 19 million passengers, including 15.2 million international and 3.9 million domestic, representing an 11% growth from the previous year.
