KEYIR NEWS - In a powerful message shared on LinkedIn, United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres expressed profound alarm at the deteriorating situation in Gaza, describing it as “beyond description, beyond atrocious, and beyond inhumane.”
Guterres said the world has been witnessing an unfolding humanitarian catastrophe, marked by relentless death, destruction, and human suffering.
“This must stop. We cannot allow this situation to continue,” he declared.
Reiterating his longstanding appeal for peace, the Secretary-General once again called for a permanent ceasefire, the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages, and full, unhindered humanitarian access across Gaza.
He underscored the urgent need to protect civilians and deliver life-saving aid to those in desperate need.
Guterres also urged all parties to seize the opportunity offered by the recent peace proposal put forward by President Trump, describing it as a potential pathway to end the long and tragic conflict.
“The suffering of Palestinians, and indeed all civilians caught in this endless cycle of violence, must come to an end,” he emphasized, reaffirming the UN’s commitment to achieving a just and lasting peace based on human rights, dignity, and mutual respect.
His statement reflects the deepening frustration within the international community over the ongoing crisis and serves as a renewed plea for decisive global action to stop the bloodshed and restore hope in the region.
